Please view this page to see what my goals were for this year and more specifically this quarter
Q3
What I did
I started the quarter off wrapping up audio piece from the prior quarter. I had done an interview with Abi
After this point I decided to take some time aside to re-evaluate what I wanted my podcasts to look like. As well as to do more conventional research. I continued listening to different podcasts to see what I wanted mine to look like.
I also did a lot of looking for resources. Here was a document I created of piece that could be used as jumping off points for research.
I took some notes from Crash Course videos.
I did some thinking about different cultures colliding and left it in sort of brainstorm format.
I then took notes on Colonization.
I did some other readings on Tradition and Modernity. As well as Ethnocentrism and Xenocentrism. Due to technical difficulties the images of these won't upload. Please refer to documentation folder in google drive.
After this I created questions from the Tradition and Modernity reading.
March rolled around and I was ready to start creating more podcasts. I started with a brain dump. Most of it is crossed out here as I started going into different things and decided that wasn't something I wanted to look at.
I settled on doing my next podcast about change in societies. I decided to interview Meg Allison and Amy K, as they started seeking social justice. As well as Shelley Vermilya. Lastly, for this piece I wanted to interview Grae Moriath. LGBTQ related topics have come up in each of my interviews prior to this, so I thought exploring these in a more informative way would make sense. Last year, Grae was in Pilot and studied LGBTQ rights and history making them a perfect person to look further into this with.

Interviews
So far I have interviewed everyone for the change episode except Meg.
What I'm doing next
In the last quarter I'm hoping to complete three podcasts. As well as continuing to look at resources outside of interviewing people.
Quarter 4: AKA School from Home
For the change episode, it made sense to interview Seeking Social Justice Leaders, Meg Allison, and Amy Koenigbauer. As well as Shelley Vermilya, as all of these people’s goals in the school are to make change! Lastly, for this podcast, I interviewed Grae Moriath, who did a study on queer history last year. I want these podcasts of exploring concepts and ideas to complement the storytelling podcasts. these final pieces to have something different to them. I edited these together into a podcast with the overarching question of how does society change? I didn’t end up including Grae’s answers in this one. I couldn’t figure out how I wanted them to fit into the podcast. If I had more time this year I think I could have worked them in somehow.
After we started doing school from home I was in the process of editing that podcast together and completing the interviews. Once I wrapped up the How Does Society Change podcast, I started one about Covid. I sent questions to teachers and friends. Originally there were four which I planned to edit together into a Vox Pop. Ending with what I started with made sense. When I got the answers back the ones that were the most heart warming and interesting to listen to were the ones answering the question, What gives you hope?
