As the school handbook describes it: The Pilot is a rigorous program of mentored independent study that allows U-32 students to design their own learning and incorporate their passions and interests. Working with a committee of teachers and advisors, students create their own learning
plans that address standards through project based work, internships, and classes that will be assessed by U-32 teachers. The Pilot
seeks motivated, curious learners who are eager to pursue their passions and are looking for a different way to approach and take
ownership of their education. Students gain a deeper understanding of who they are as learners in the Pilot, which allows them to
take a hands-on approach and explore their interests.

/MEETING WITH ADVISORS AND MENTORS
We have advisors for each content area. These are teachers in the school that work in the departments. Content advisors are met with every other week. Additionally, we have an overall mentor that oversees all parts of our studies. There are weekly meetings with this person. Lastly, we have mentors. These are people in the community who have a large amount of knowledge on whatever we are studying. Mentors are met with weekly.
/ ATTEND SEMINAR
This is a class that all Pilot students have together. We meet and talk about things that apply to all of our studies. Examples of this include research skills, time management, and documenting out learning.
/JOURNAL EVERY WEEK: BLOG
Blogs are a form of documenting work weekly for your advisors and mentors to see in addition to meetings. Here is the link to mine!
/DOCUMENT WORK IN A PORTFOLIO
What your looking at right now is my portfolio. Welcome! Click around!
/WRITE NARRATIVES
All of my narratives can be found on the homepage of this website.
/GIVE EXHIBITIONS
At the end of each quarter we give an exhibition to our advisors, mentors, parents, and anyone else who wants to come! These get long as the year goes on as we have more to present. By the end of the year it is an hour long presentation on our learning!
